ABOUT SPONSOR A SUPERHERO:
Project “Sponsor a Superhero” is focused on supporting underprivileged special need children. We believe every special need child has the right to basic and appropriate education. As special schools require teachers and therapists with specialization in this field, tuition fees are often very high and beyond many parent’s affordability. There are few special schools that try to accommodate marginalized special need children. These schools often struggle to accommodate these under privileged special need children resulting in high dropouts. CHILD foundation took this initiative to support these children so the schools can focus more on developing their services and providing these children with a long- term academic support.
HOW YOUR SPONSORSHIP HELPS:
When you sponsor a child you are directly helping him or her provide an opportunity to grow, learn and work towards a better future.
Your contribution will directly support the child’s cost of special education, therapies, life skill lessons, uniform, and transportation to and from school, books, educational supplies and more.
CHILD Foundation will also host many social events for this child to promote inclusion and grow their social skills. This child will also receive direct services provided by CHILD foundation every time our foreign specialists are visiting.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
As a potential sponsor you will be required to pay the child’s 1-year sponsorship fee to the foundation’s project account.
Once the payment is received, you will receive a welcome letter as a sponsor from CHILD foundation along with the profile & photo of the child you will be sponsoring. The profile will include the child’s details such as the child’s disability, name of the special need school the child is attending, therapies and other services required, etc.
HOW DO WE SELECT A CHILD FOR YOU:
In order to ensure that the child will be benefiting the most out of your contribution, we select children enrolled in only those schools where CHILD foundation has provided training. This guarantees that the services provided to the child are of high standard and quality in Bangladesh. We have worked closely with these schools developing their program, training their teachers and therapists.
The school submits a list of potential candidates with their details. We interview the parents to make sure the child is eligible and the parents will be actively involved in the educational program. For children who do not have parents or close family, we make our decision based on the details provided by the school. A child is selected in this process and his or her profile is sent to you for your records.
HOW DO WE MONITOR THE CHILD’S PROGRESS:
Our coordinator will monitor the child’s progress on monthly basis and also ensure that the child is attending school regularly. Schools are required to provide financial report, individualized academic plan & progress report on quarterly basis. We will provide you with a quarterly summarized progress report so you know how your sponsorship is helping the child.
TRANSPARENCY & ACCESSIBILITY:
We have a memorandum of understanding with the school, which gives us the right to visit the child at the school at any time. This also gives us the right to include this child to outdoor social activities hosted by CHILD foundation. He or she will also be able to receive any direct services such as assessment provided by CHILD foundation. As a sponsor you will receive progress report of the child regularly. You can also visit the child at the school if you like. Once we are informed, we will make all arrangements for you to visit the child.
